SHORT DRESS

I always feel so awkward when I wear a short dress. Honestly, I have no idea what it is but I am just SO uncomfortable the entire time. The fear of some ungodly body part falling out at any time is SO REAL. Swim suits? Completely comfortable. Short dresses? Run for the hills. (Who knows lol.)

So you are probably like why the hell would you even buy something that you don’t feel comfortable in, foolish girl. Well, FASHION my friends. I am literally the worst for this sometimes. If something looks cute and is the right price I will pretty much buy it no matter what. I am the ultimate consumer haha.

This dress was picked up at that Zara sale that happened a few weeks ago. Anyone else know the one I am referring to? If you live in Vancouver you know that the Zara on Robson St. pretty much looked like a scene from hunger games after us ladies had our way with the sales. Blood, sweat, and tears were shed in that store. But alas I came out alive with a few winning picks.

So tell me, have you guys ever fallen victim to wearing something that looks super cute but actually makes you feel really uncomfortable?! Comment below I need to know I’m not alone here!!

THIS HEADBAND THOUGH.

If it was socially acceptable to wear flower headbands every single day I probably would. They make me feel like a special fairy princess. My mom even told me so.

Anywho, this headband is the shit and you can pick it up right now from Urban Outfitters. The location I bought it at sold out when I went back a few days later so go quick! Makes sense considering it was music festival season and all.

My jumpsuit, romper, playsuit (whatever you call it) is from BCBG and I also think I will go ahead and live in this. It is so soft and comfortable. Also, the versatility is real. I wore this to a wedding, and the next week dressed it down and wore it out to lunch with a friend. #winning

Saving the best for last…… this beauty one-piece swimsuit marks the final episode of Billabong in BC on Skinny Belle! It has been such a great experience collaborating with Billabong. Not only has it made me feel all surfer-girl-call-me-kate-bosworth-like (yes, I can dream 😛 ) but it has been a pleasure working with the Billabong team.

It has been SO LONG since I have worn a one-piece swimsuit. Why on earth would I ever have stopped wearing them. They are freakin’ bomb. Maybe it was because I was traumatized as a child when my mother forced me to wear a full body one-piece. No, this is not a joke. I legitimately had to wear a “swimsuit” that went from my ankles to my wrists. Like… my FULL BODY was covered. Think wetsuit status. Yes, I was that ginger kid on the beach. Let’s not even get into the hats I was forced to wear as a child. Okay so my mother did have really good intentions (making sure my skin didn’t burn and I stayed sun-safe blah blah) but MY GOD must that have traumatized me if I only brought out a one-piece now at age 24. (<— insert like a mil crying/laughing emojis here hahaha)

So now you know of my ginger-child horrors. Enjoy that from the safety of your own home. And please for the love of god, never do that to your children.

Okay got way distracted there. Anyways, point being I am all about them one-pieces now. Check out what other beauty one-pieces Billabong has in store by clicking here

Hope you guys love this Billabong in BC series as much as I do! What was your fave episode? Tell me in the comments below 😀

INDIAN WEDDING

Outfits

Howwwwwww much fun is this outfit you guys?!

This past weekend I attended my cousin’s wedding in Edmonton, Canada. It was a big week-long wedding that was a really cool blend between a traditional Indian wedding and a North American wedding. Obviously I took this opportunity to wear an Indian sari to one of the events — the actual wedding ceremony.

Not going to lie, it was a bit of a challenge getting the whole thing together because it was pretty much just meters and meters of fabric that you wrap around yourself. Girl figured it out though, and I like to think I did a pretty good job :D. Other than the fact that I wrapped the inside layer way too tight, and ended up feeling like a sausage stuffed in its casing when I walked because my legs were way too close together. But hey, a small hiccup in an otherwise well-executed outfit.

A big congratulations to my cousin and her new husband! The ceremony was so so beautiful, and the entire wedding was a big success.

Okay so I have a confession to make. I have pretty much been living in jumpers for this entire summer. They are THE easiest outfit to wear and look semi put-together while doing it (with minimal effort.) Because really, think about it… jumpers are basically adult onesies that are socially acceptable to wear in public. #WINNING. And all you have to do it throw one of those bad boys on and you are out the door looking fab. Which is efficient. And you guys know how much I love efficiency. Efficiency is the key to life. Really… haha. Being efficient means you have time to fit all of your favourite things in. And I dare you to tell me you know someone who doesn’t love doing all their favourite things!

Moving right along…. *ahem*

My Billabong in BC series continues! I absolutely love this jumper, for many reasons other than the efficiency of wearing a jumper (LOL.) If you guys don’t think I am weird yet I am legitimately concerned for you. K so ANYWAYS, this jumper from Billabong is unreal. It is low-backed and comfy as ever. The fact that I don’t have to wear a bra with this is just fantastic. Because, freedom. (Anyone feel me on this??)

You can order your own Billabong Jumper by clicking here

Not sure if you guys noticed yet but I kiiiiiind of have a thing for low-back dresses. There is something so sultry about them, I just love it. It’s like, you are being modest because you are covering up in the front but then BOOM all of a sudden you are a badass from the back. Business in the front, party in the back. (Oh my god…. this description is getting out of hand. Mullets are coming to mind. Must stop.)

Okay so ANYWAYS, this is another great look from the Billabong Fall ’15 line that I am clearly all over. The relaxed beachy vibes of this collection just get me and I really feel at home in the clothing. Have you guys ever had that? Where you put something on then right away it just feels… right? Abbbbsolutely love that feeling. That’s how you know you have something that suits your personal style. When you feel comfortable in whatever it is you are wearing. For me, this dress is it.

This. Dress.

Yes.

All of it.

Okay can we talk about how fantastical this dress is?! I felt like a fairy-princess-sea-mermaid-queen while wearing it. Not sure if I was able to fully portray my fairy-princess-sea-mermaid-queen vibes in these photos, but hey. I did my best.

This outfit marks the second episode of Skinny Belle’s Billabong in BC series. And if you can’t already tell I am FEELING this dress. For real. It is pretty much the perfect thing to wear to any event. And the colours are to-die-for. Basically it’s my kind of dress is the point I am trying to get across.

What do you guys think? Do you like this Billabong maxi-dress look? Or are you more or a short-dress kinda girl? Comment below!

My friends over at Billabong and I have teamed up to bring you my favourite picks from their Fall 2015 line! And let me tell you guys… this stuff is unreal.

Let’s start by talking about Billabong. They have consistently been one of my favourite brands since…. well… forever? Beachy, sporty, casual-yet-glam. Sign. Me. Up.

Over the next few weeks I will be releasing Skinny Belle’s Billabong in BC series. This is a collection of photos featuring Billabong‘s Fall 2015 line, in some very typical West Cost BC locations. The great thing about a brand like Billabong is that it is so versatile. You can wear the same outfit on the beaches of Hawaii all the way to the rainy coast of British Columbia… And that is exactly what I will be showing in my Billabong in BC series.

Today’s pics are just the beginning! It gets better. (My male readers are like please woman… it does not get better than bikini pics LOL.) But really, there is so much more good stuff to come!

These photos are so authentic “West Coast” it’s actually ridiculous. It was freaking raining while we shot these. RAINING. That is how much I love you guys. I get naked in the rain for you. 😛 (Because that’s what love is, right?)

One of my favourite movies of all time is Blue Crush. Anyone feel me on that one?? If you claim you didn’t like it you are clearly just lying to yourself. Because it was awesome. Surfer babes and beaches. What’s not to love? So anyways, there is this epic scene of Kate Bosworth surfing in this little camo bikini. I obviously HAD to have it. #LIFEGOALS. If you also want to feel like Kate Bosworth in Blue Crush, you can pick up my bikini bottoms here and my top here

Make sure you head over to Billabong‘s site and pick out your favourite Fall 2015 pieces! Get ready to see more of my top picks with Skinny Belle’s Billabong in BC series.

Do you guys also like to wear platform shoes while trying to balance on jagged rocks? I don’t know about you but this was TOTALLY natural and not at ALL scary. K but really though, I was on the verge of eating it the whole time we were shooting these pics. Let’s just say my shoes are not meant for “off-roading.” But I like to live on the wild side. Because that’s just how I roll. 😉 (Also lol at the things I will do to get “the shot.” I am an artist with a VISION, okay?! God.)

*Ahem…* moving right along.

During the winter my regular uniform is usually just black, grey, and some more black and some more grey. I have been wearing lighter and brighter colours for the summertime lately, and I honestly was just craving a little bit of an edgier outfit. Know what I mean?? Girl just wanted to be a rebel. Okay this is super random, but I have this thing where when I am wearing all-black I just feel like a total badass. Like, you can’t be sure what I will do next cuz I’m in all black and thats just so CRAZY AND WILD. Hahaha. I swear its a thing. Anyways, I was missing that feeling of rebelliousness so I brought back my all-black-uniform the other evening.

Alrighty so my shorts I got at Hollister ($23 right now!!! GO GET EM LADIES) and as far as jean shorts go, they are super comfy. They have a bit of stretch to them which makes the whole experience of wearing jean shorts slightly less agonizing. You guys know what I am talking about lets be honest here. Jean shorts just ride up the entire time you wear them and its like fighting a losing wedgie battle. We have all been there. You can admit it, this is a safe place. 😛 So ya the stretch in the jean shorts makes these way better than normal non-stretch jean shorts.

My top is from Urban Outfitters. I am kind of morally opposed to wearing bras these days unless I am societally obligated to do so. Which is super weird because I normally prefer to wear one to give the illusion that I actually have boobs. But the summer does weird things to a girl! So anyways, I attempted side-boob in this situation but I am quite positive that there was not enough “boob” to have any “side.”

Okie hope you guys liked this outfit! I’m off for now, so thanks for listening to my random ramblings. Love y’all 🙂

OCEAN MINDED

Outfits

Skinny-Belle (5 of 20)

Skinny-Belle (16 of 20)

Messy hair, bare feet, ocean. That is pretty much the program I am on right now.

The ocean thoughhhh. That shit just gets me. It is so relaxing and peaceful. I really don’t think I could ever live in a city that was not close to the ocean (or on the West Coast for that matter.) Hence all the beachy photos that have been happening lately haha! The weather is only nice for about 5 months a year here in Vancouver so you will find me by the water pretty much all the time. Staying… Ocean minded, if you will. 🙂

Also jumpers. I have been living in them. But you guys already knew that. I will switch it up soon I promise haha. For today, I bring you another jumper from Urban Outfitters. Those guys are killing it lately! Totally in love with this red and black jumper, it has a low back, is long and flowy, AND I don’t have to wear a bra (<— seriously you you guys. FREEDOM.) Just all the great things in general.

Hope you are having a great week! Make sure you get outside and enjoy some fresh air. It’s good for ya. 😉
